Wurzbach Parkway “Land Bridge”

market-expert

If you ever need to get anywhere in San Antonio you more than likley have used Wurzbach Parkway. One of the most beautiful urban parks in San Antonio, Phil Hardberger Park is divided by Wurzbach Parkway. The idea of joining the east and west sides of the park will help create a natural area while protecting the wildlife that current lives in the park. With that being said a “Land Bridge” is under construction to make this dream a reality. The estimated completion is in the fall of 2020.

The Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge at Phil Hardberger Park is going to be 150 feet wide, large enough for both animals and people to cross safely, you can find this description in the parks master plan.  What is described as “more than just a way to cross from one side to the other, the Land Bridge will be a continuation of the natural beauty of the park. People crossing it will have the experience of climbing over a hill, unaware of the traffic below.”

Features of Land Bridge include the following:

  • A SkyWalk, which is a walkway that winds through the tree tops and native landscape.
  • Constructed with low impact practices.
  • Rainwater catch systems for reuse.
  • This project will add over half an acre of park land, with native landscape, over Wurzbach Pkwy.
